New Building Society Hall of Residence
Student's Welfare
Located at the Turkeyen Campus, the New Building Society Hall of Residence provides housing during the school year to approximately sixteen male students and twenty two female students.
The Hall is staffed by a Hall Manager and a number of ancillary staff members who are responsible for its daily operations. Students housed here can expect standard rooms for single occupancy.
Rooms are furnished with beds, built-in closets and study desks and chairs. Other facilities/amenities are communal and include, five sanitary blocks, the kitchen where students are allowed to prepare their own meals, dining hall, laundry, recreational, and study areas. WiFi internet access is now available. Students also have access to communal televisions, refrigerators, freezers and microwaves. Students are allowed to utilize small appliances and electronics for operation in their respective rooms.
Applying for Accommodation
Applications are online in the Students’ Records Management System (SRMS) and are open annually to coincide with the period of registration for new and continuing students. Subject to the availability of rooms, students are selected based on criteria which include region of residence (priority is also given to students who reside in regions that are distant from the campus), and accommodation history (students who are previous residents with good conduct etc).
Cost of Accommodation
All rooms attract a monthly fee of GYD 20,000 and a refundable cautionary deposit of GYD 10,000.
